6 Months of “Taking Charge”, Update, and Small Goals

Today, May 20th, marks exactly six months since I decided to take control of my weight and take accountability for the position I have put myself in throughout the last 10 years. I started the surgeon and insurance required six month supervised diet for a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) on November 20th. It’s crazy to think that it’s been six months already. I thought this time was going to creep by so slowly… and at first it did, but I found that after about 2 1/2 months, the time really started to fly. Not only is it a six month “anniversary” of my journey, but it has also been a week since I had surgery. Surgery Tomorrow: My Reflections on the End of the Six Month Supervised Diet and 108.8lbs Lost (w/ pics!)

Well, tomorrow is the day! I started this journey on November 20th, when I had my first consult with the doctor at the weight management clinic where I live. Big Milestones, Insurance Approval, and Struggles

It’s been a few days since I’ve last posted and big things have been happening in my journey to getting healthy and having weight loss surgery (vertical sleeve gastrectomy) or VSG. One of the most exciting things that has happened since I last wrote is that I finally hit the 100 lbs lost milestone on Friday, May 3, 2013!! Wooohooo!! This was VERY exciting… I can’t believe that in 5 1/2 months, I was able to lose 100 lbs.
